Los Angeles Fires

We've come a long way from the Mamas and Papas' "California Dreaming"

Progressive Democrats have destroyed one of the richest and most beautiful states in America. The rest of us -- the other forty-nine states -- now have to pick up the bill for the damage directly attributable to their insane progressive agenda and the incompetence of its "progressive" politicians and civil servants.

Emperor Nero is infamous for playing the lyre while his city burned in 64 AD. His incompetence and narcissistic focus on himself left the city wholly unprepared for the disaster and much of the city burned to the ground, leading to rebellion and riots against his rule.

In much the same way Los Angeles took what should have been a small fire that could have and should have been quickly contained and let it spread across the city. Governor Gavin Newsom posted the morning of the fire a picture of himself marching with his friends celebrating his rule for six years. Meanwhile the Mayor of Los Angeles was in Ghana Africa instead of addressing the wholesale destruction of multi-million dollar homes en masse across their city.

This is generally not the season for brush fires where the heat and dryness are more conducive to wildfires. They also typically happen during the summer and usually in the wild where they initially go unnoticed. The utter disregard for people’s property and complete incompetence should sicken each and every one of us.

The Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, is a lifelong Marxist

Karen Bass was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2022. Bass was also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Progressive Caucus (every member of the caucus also belongs to the Democratic Socialists of America).

In 2020, Bass was vetted by the Biden campaign as a possible candidate to be Joe Biden's vice-presidential running-mate. She was elected mayor of Los Angeles in 2022.

Check out her history.

Bass has been a lifelong communist and was a member of Fidel Castro's "Vinceremos Brigade." and visited Cuba sixteen times with the revolutionary group. She was a longtime proponent of normalizing U.S. relations with Communist Cuba.

In the wake of Castro’s death in November 2016, Bass referred to Castro as “Comandante en Jefe” (“Commander in Chief”) and called his passing “a great loss to the people of Cuba.”

In their 2010 book, Black Los Angeles: American Dreams and Racial Realities, progressive authors Darnell Hunt and Ana-Christina Ramon wrote that Bass, in a 2008 interview, provided them with many details about her days as a student at Alexander Hamilton High School on the Westside of Los Angeles. The authors quote Bass as having told them:

“It [the white Left] played a huge role for me. In Hamilton [High School] for example, a lot of the Jewish parents were activists and some of them were in the Communist Party. And so I grew up with a lot of red diaper babies [a metaphor for children whose parents were members of the Communist Party USA during the Cold War]. And there were some African American parents who were in the Communist Party. There were teachers who were in the Communist Party. So, white radicals were very influential. And at the same time you have the [Black] Panthers and the whole black movement.”

The New York Post reports Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass slashed the LAFD budget by $17.6 million in the 2024-25 fiscal year. Bass called for $49 million in additional cuts to the fire department just one week before the LA fires which would have shut down sixteen fire stations. The cuts were driven by the need to support illegal aliens living in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department is run by fat, old lesbians.

The LAFD is very diverse. It is run by activist lesbians named "Kristin," "Kristina," or "Kristine." Their primary interests have zero to do with putting out fires. All of them are Diversity hires and none of them were ever fire-fighters. They were EMTs (emergency medical technicians).

Kristin Crowley, Los Angeles' first lesbian fire chief makes $439,772 per and her primary mission is, "the creation of systemic equity and inclusion across the LAFD." She has never held the position of "chief" inside of LAFD. She it totally unqualified for her job. Her total pay and benefits are over $600 thousand per.

Crowley doesn't see her mission is responding to disasters, but hiring women, minorities, and lots of Alphabet People (LGBTQIA+).

Kristina Kepner is the LAFD's first lesbian Assistant Chief. She qualified for her job by attending Harvard's Kennedy School where she studied "Managing Diverse Organizations."

In March 2023, Kepner violently attacked her then-live-in domestic partner while repeatedly threatening to kill both of them. She repeated homicidal and suicidal threats during and after the violent attack. Ironically, a publicly available LAFD roster lists Kepner as a member of its mental health peer support team

Kristine Larson is the LAFD’s first lesbian "Equity Bureau Chief." Her base pay is $399,000 per. The fire department pays her for finding ways to avoid hiring white men as fire fighters. She is the co-founder of Equity on Fire and got her job by constantly accusing the LAFD of being racist and sexist.

Please listen carefully to Chief Larson. Her philosophy of fire fighting is unique to fire fighters everywhere. You may have to listen to this twice, to make sure you really heard what she said.

Yup! Chief Larson really did say if she couldn't rescue a man in a burning building, it was his fault. Ahhh, diversity!

Jamie Brown is the LAFD's first lesbian Training Commander. Her greatest accomplishment is not being named Kristen, Kristina, or Kristine.

Los Angeles Fires

Crowley, Kepner, and Brown were all paramedics, not firefighters. Diversity mandates led to paramedics being referred to as "firefighters" and then being promoted to fire captains and battalion chiefs and then to the top echelons of the LAFD.

While the LAFD might have lost a whole lot white men who knew how to fight fires, it gained a lot of DEI hires who knew how to pursue diversity, inclusion, and equity and were experts at all the pronoun stuff.

And while Los Angeles might have lost a lot of homes and commercial buildings, it gained a lot of lesbian fire chiefs. Leftists see that as "progress."

The head of Los Angeles Water and Power is a champion of "equity"

Los Angeles' Department of Water and Power, is headed up by its CEO, Janisse Quinones, who was hired by Mayor Karen Bass in May, 2024. Quinones, who makes $750,000 per year, says everything she does needs to be done with an "equity lens."

The large reservoir in Pacific Palisades that is part of the Los Angeles water supply system was out of commission when a ferocious wildfire destroyed thousands of homes and other structures nearby.

Officials said that the Santa Ynez Reservoir had been closed since about February for repairs to its cover, leaving a 117-million-gallon water storage complex empty in the heart of the Palisades for nearly a year.

The reservoir holds 117 million gallons of water, and would’ve given firefighters ample pressure to effectively fight the Palisades blaze.

The overpaid Department of Water and Power officials have now been forced to admit the reservoir being offline likely contributed to dry fire hydrants and low water pressure making it impossible to maintain any pressure to hydrants at high elevations.

Had the reservoir been operable, water pressure in the Palisades would have lasted longer on Tuesday night, said former DWP general manager Martin Adams, an expert on the city’s water system.

Listen to Quinones explain how LA ran out of water.

What a sad, sad way to show these DEI hires don’t know their butt from a hole in the ground. Much of the loss and the suffering was avoidable.

And nothing is going to change

The City of Los Angeles' problems are directly attributable to the placing unqualified people in position of huge responsibilities. These people are chosen by their skin pigmentation, their genitals, and who and what they sleep with. Experience and competence are no longer factors in hiring -- and they pay these people crazy money!

Every half-aware American knows about the problems with the underbrush and deadwood in the California forests, the dumping of billions of gallons of water into the Pacific Ocean, and placing the needs of a baitfish with a one-year lifespan before human beings. California has a major problem with the private ownership of 60% to 75% of its fresh water.

These problems have been a well-known vulnerability for some time, yet, California politicians have done nothing to mitigate them. The were busy with diversity, equity, and campaigning for the next office. A firefighter spoke to Joe Rogan and predicted the how and why of the LA in detail back in July of 2024.

And you know those million-dollar homes on Malibu Beach, occupied by Hollywood's royalty, California will never allow the owners to rebuild. It's all about the environment, you know.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion destroyed Los Angeles. The fire was simply the tool. Now, the other forty-nine United States will have to pay for it -- and for a long, long time.
